Archery

Archery is one of the oldest arts still practiced today.  Although Archery likely dates to the Stone Age (around 20,000 BC), the earliest people known to have used bows and arrows were the ancient Egyptians, for purposes of hunting and warfare, some 5,000 years ago.  The first known organized competition in Archery was held at Finsbury, England in 1583 and included 3,000 participants!

At OPSC, Archery is a year-round activity.  Whether you prefer to shoot paper targets on the indoor range or shoot 3D targets out on the practice field, the Club has resources for bow hunters and Archery enthusiasts alike, regardless of ability.

While Archery Members generally meet the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month, please confirm dates/times via the club Calendar.

Don’t have any equipment?  Don’t worry!  There is plenty of equipment to borrow and the folks running Archery would enjoy teaching you about the sport.  Come on out and give it try!
